Here we Go Again Department...

Idiots Guide to Winter Driving in Peoria.

1. Do not remove the snow from your headlights and turn signals.  No one needs to see you coming and you don't use signals anyway.

2. Clear just enough off the windshield to see out of, never mind the rear window.  That's where you have been and doesn't matter.

3. Do not turn on your headlights.  They're probably covered with snow anyway.

4. Allow at least 4 inches between you and the car in front of you.  It takes a little longer to stop with ice and snow on the streets and the car in front of you acts like a buffer.

5. If you do use your lights, make sure every single bright white light your car has is on full strength.  Blinding other drivers helps.

6. Speed limit signs are merely a suggestion.  You may ignore them. Slowing down below the posted speed limit is for sissys.

7. Because of idiot drivers my insurance premiums allow my agent to be in the Bahamas right now.  Good luck filing a claim.

8. Even though you think you need an 8 ton Hummer to make it to the mall or die, you can drive like it's June because if you hit something you won't feel it.

9. And those huge SUVs never spin out and go into a ditch, right?

10. Pay no attention the NWS (National Weather Service) and their warnings.  Apparently they are using an 8 Ball to forecast with as this doesn't look like an inch dusting.  Don't listen to the local weather people either, they are parrots of the NWS.

11.  It's a good idea to text while driving to let all your friends know that your in a ditch because paying attention to the road is not as important as Buffy's new tattoo.

And lastly...

12.  Stay the f#@k away from me when driving!

No Title Needed...

We interrupt Peoria Anti-Pundit's regular usual snide post for these remarks:

Whomever coined the phrase "Black Friday" for use as a term for news anchors to refer to the idiotic shopping habits of Americans the day after Thanksgiving should be bull whipped.  Some bloggers have already made mention of this but because I don't live in front of my computer, I'm a little late with my two cents worth:

I do not usually watch local TV news anymore but tuned in Friday morning to News 25.  I think the ditzy, and she is ditzy because she can't seem to read the teleprompter, must have used the term "Black Friday" a dozen times all the while showing lines of numbskulls waiting to get inside stores that were opening at the crack of dawn.

You know, I firmly believe that the downfall of our country is our own fault. We have done more damage to ourselves than any terrorists could do to us.  It seems that we, as a people have become apathetic and lack any integrity.  We have become a nation of people who hide behind emails, text messages, and anonymity that these things bring.  We are bombarded daily on why we must own the biggest pickup or have the coolest cell phone, or the biggest screen TV and if you don't own these things or wear the latest fashions or smell like the hottest movie star, then you are sub standard.  Integrity?  Taking responsibility for ones actions or owning up to one's actions.  Kids today think people owe them.  Hell, adults think people owe them.  You are owed nothing.  You must earn everything you own but this concept seems lost, especially in our society today where morals are like throw away forks.

In my belief, if AIM or Yahoo Instant messenger required that you typed a correct English sentence with proper syntax, grammar, and punctuation, then it would NOT send it, our kids and even adults wouldn't be able to communicate.  OMG, LOL, LMAO, IMO, WTF, TTYL, BFF, U, C, 2, CUZ, and on and on reminds me of how dumb down kids and adults have become which I liken to George Orwell's book, 1984 and his reference to "Doublespeak".

Now we have the media referring to Black Friday like it is a holy day and if one doesn't participate, then you are simply un-American or from a third world country.  This is so bizarre and yet people line up like sheep to the slaughter house to appease their kid for a toy or a device that will probably lay collecting dust by March.

It seems that many have forgotten what this holiday is all about.  I am talking about Christmas.  Whatever religion you worship, Christmas is about an event that marks the birth of Our Lord, Jesus Christ but the only time you hear that name is when the store you stood in front of for 4 hours or more runs out of the item you wanted.  Jesus Christ!

You know what?  When a man, 34 years old, whom I don't even know nor do any of you reading this probably knew, is unlocking a door at 5am at his local Wal-Mart and he is trampled to death from the onslaught of people rushing in to buy the latest gadget, well, we as a people suck.  No one, and I mean no one had the integrity to stop and take responsibility for these actions.  They, as a group, killed a human being for the sake of a price or maybe in a language some of you may understand....OMG!

Unless we as a people start to get our priorities straight, start caring for our fellow humans, we as a nation are doomed.  So, go ahead and fight for that parking space, call someone a name for taking the last item off the shelve.  Smile at someone and then talk about them behind their back.  Max out your credit card so your kid can have that must have video game.  It doesn't matter.  Many have lost sight of what is real in this country long ago and this holiday season amplifies it.  I saw it on 9/11 when fist fights broke out at the local BP/AMOCO station for gasoline.  I see it when someone in an H2 Hummer passes me with a "Preserve Wildlife" license plate on it.  I see it when a local news anchor says; "It's Black Friday folks, get out and shop."  People just don't seem to "get it" anymore.

This year, my family has decided to open our eyes and relish the season for what it really means.  The birth of Our Savior, Peace on Earth, and Good Will Towards Men.  You have to start somewhere...

Things I Ponder Department...

Why does Billy Dennis keep reverting his blog so if you want to leave a comment, you have to log in?

Why doesn't my USER name and LOGIN work on his site?  Blogs shouldn't  have logins.  Moderate if you don't want comments. I would re-register but...

Where is the frickin link to register on the Peoria Pundit?  Dark matter is easier to see.

Why don't traffic lights at light traffic intersections in Peoria blink yellow after midnight like they used to do in the old days?  I hate sitting at Lincoln and Western at 1 am waiting for the "scenic" red to turn green while there is no traffic except for the numerous people that seem to be milling about?

Why are there people milling around at 1am at Lincoln and Western? Maybe it's that new bike lane?

Why don't they just raise the price of bullets to a $1000 each?  This way, people will either improve their aim or you'll really have to piss someone off to get shot 3 times.

Does OnStar listen in on your conversations in your car?  Do they even know if you are just talking to yourself and if you "break wind" should you say "excuse me" just in case?

Why does every country female singer sing about being jilted and why is every male country singer in love with his pickup?

Is this why at a redneck wedding the most exchanged gifts are a Craftsmen toolbox and a 20 gauge?

How does a QVC hostess talk for 20 minutes about the virtues of a designer water bottle?

CJ doesn't own a cell phone. Is that a surprise?

The Nut Shit has to Stop Department

Christ almighty.  It never seems to end.  Barbara Van Auken was in the paper today saying there is no money in the new budget to do anything about Main Street traffic.  Yippeee!  Read THIS.  This guy thinks the end of the world just happened.  (Christ! Twice in week I am going with BVA on something)

I guess some think Main Street should be reduced to two lanes with a turn lane or whatever?  These various neighborhood groups that boarder Main have submitted input on this to make "their" neighborhood more "walkable" or is it pedestrian friendly?  What ever that is.  I think the city did this to Prospect from War memorial to it's end.  Prospect is not Main Street and I am pretty sure we (taxpayers) have spent $28 grand on studies for this Main Street traffic calming whatever you want to call it.

Now it seems the city is putting the whole thing on the self.  Good!  My only regret is that we can't get "our" money back from all the useless studies.  Let me give you one for free...

Main Street is just that, Main Street.  We have spent a small fortune on new lighting, sidewalks, hanging baskets, and moving utilities.  This street should not be reduced from the current 4 lanes it is.  The Uplands has had restrictions put on left turns into their neighborhood at peak hours to prevent us commoners from driving through their streets.  Same with the Arbors.  (I could never own a house in either, I am not anal retentive enough) Like they are their streets any more than the street in front of my house is my street.  Yet, we have restrictions, no parking unless you have a permit and stop signs at every single intersection along Columbia Terr.  All this to discourage any taxpayer from using their public streets to avoid the long (sometimes 3 blocks long) lines of cars at University and Main trying to turn left. And we want to reduce these lanes?  That is just nuts.

In the old days, one could drive south on University, turn right onto Parkside Dr and make your way over to Farmington Rd avoiding University and Main altogether.  That has been stopped because the homeowners didn't like the traffic.  In the old days, University went to two lanes and jagged to the left right after Main where Avanti's was then located on the opposite corner.  Traffic was a real bottle neck then and yes, Bradley was still there. The new "S" curve fixed that and traffic, while heavy at times flows.

The thing is, I am glad the city shelved this.  Main Street needs to remain 4 lanes.  If the Uplands or the Arbors or whomever don't like the traffic, then get the police to enforce the No Left Turn signs.  Get them to enforce the 30 mph speed limit and slow things down. You already have walkable.  I know in my neighborhood, we would love just to have a sidewalk and enforcement and restrictions on traffic on our streets.

If you live next to a dynamite factory, then you should expect explosions.  If you live next to Main Street, a major thoroughfare, then expect traffic.  Enough ass kissing has been done.  Get over it.

UPDATE:  Lane reduction, if any, would happen from University east to downtown. 4 lanes on Main will remain from Western to University.  Still, this is nuts.  Want to see how this would work on a street with approximately the same volume?  Travel West Lincoln from Griswold to Western.  Enjoy the wait getting through the traffic light at Western.

A Little Safety Department...

I read a comment on a blog this morning that stirred me a bit.  This person had noticed that every other car seemed to have a burned out brake light or a headlamp was out.  I have took notice of this myself and wonder what is happening.  Maybe it is because car manufactures have bought a railcar full of cheap Chinese light bulbs and they are failing at an alarming rate or maybe it is because in Peoria it seems you stop at every traffic light or both.

Even some cars like the Chevy Lumina seem to have no brake lights at all, just the center light.  I know there is a problem with some of these cars that causes the brake lights to fail.  If you look at Chevy trucks with the white daytime running lights, you'll see one with one burned out light.

About 2 years ago while turning left onto University from Main Street, my right headlamp flashed and burned out.  This was while I was on my way to work and I thought that after work, I'll have to dick with the headlight and replace it.  I didn't go 4 blocks and I got pulled over for having one headlight.  I told the officer it just burned out and he noded and thought; "sure". I then had to submit to a complete light check, then wait for a ticket which took over 20 minutes.  It sucked but then the officer was doing his job and I am sure he has heard  "It just went out!" many times.  I got the headlamp replaced and the ticket was dismissed.

Where are all these officers now?  If you just take time and look, you will see at almost every intersection where cars are stopped, brake lights are out.  I saw a car that had 7 possible bulbs for brake lights, 2 on the right, 2 on the left, and 3 for the center light and only one bulb worked!  That means that a filament the size of this: ~   Yes, that little squiggly line is all that separates you from having no brake lights at all and the chance someone may not know you are stopping or even turning.  Don't people ever check their lights?

It seems today that people just don't give a shit about driver safety, including their own.  They drive while texting or making a call which means a turn signal is out of the question. You need that free hand to hold your phone.  I see some people who fail to wear a seatbelt, yet this has been a law for years.  Instead, some sit in their cars with the seat reclined all the way back, like a lawn chair, and drive like that.  No wonder they hit stuff. Lights on when you use your wipers (rain) is a law also.  No lights on while it is raining is a ticket although I doubt any cop will get wet to write you one, but if you have an accident, it could be an added offense.

With that said, I have a video that you should see. Yes, the letter carrier in the first segment died (no seatbelt) and yes, no damage done in the roll a way in the second segment, amazing still, and the last segment on backing should wake you up.  I use this video at classes I instruct and I feel if it makes you a better safer aware driver, then it helps.  Check your lights on your car regularly, use your seatbelt, and watch where you back.  You never know.

When You're Right Department...

Well when you're right you're right!  Barbara Van Auken is right in this case.  The case of the AMVETS building downtown.  That old crumbing piece of shit ugly building that the nearly broke AMVETS almost unloaded onto a church before the great C.I.L.F. stepped in,  as they always seem to do at the last minute, and pooch the whole deal.  They, the C.I.L.F.  (Central Illinois Landmarks Foundation) has decided that this old building should be deemed a landmark of historic value.  So, where in the fuck have you people been the last 30 or 40 years?  This building, if it is historic, didn't get that way last week.

Van Auken, rightfully so, has stepped up and said she thinks the timing is all wrong and she is worried that CILF seems to be welding their so called clout like a billy club.  (my words but you get the drift) She's right and she's not alone either.  Several other council members have also voiced some concern about the CILF tactics.

This building at 237 NE Monroe St in downtown Peoria is in bad shape.  I have been in it several times almost once a month over the last year or so.  The bar downstairs is a nice little get away but the rest of the building should be scrapped. Not everything built in the 1800's or early 1900s in Peoria needs to be saved for history sake.  This building certainly won't be missed but the great overseers at CILF thinks somebody will miss it.  They want it saved even though they themselves don't have a clue nor the money on how to restore this place.  In this economic downturn we are in, which may last several years, I doubt any developer will pony up any cash either. So why now CILF?  What if the AMVETS simply closed and abandon the building?  That's probably what will happen now.

The plan was for the AMVETS to sell it to a nearby church so it could be torn down and a new addition to their church could be built.  The AMVETS then would have taken the proceeds and bought the old Penguin Tap in the Heights for their new club.  Seemed like a win win but the church now says if CILF is involved, forget the whole deal.  Meanwhile the AMVETS are back to heavy drinking in the basement at 237 NE Monroe St.

I don't mind saving historic buildings and monuments and the like but somewhere someone has to draw the line.  Who in the hell does this CILF committee think hey are?  They tried to have all Hamilton Blvd. designated historic but only after they learned Methodist Hospital wanted to expand.

I consider this old building just an old building that has out lived it's life.  It was built the way they built buildings in those days.  But, if I take the CILF view, then in say 100 years from now, will we be standing around the Gateway Building trying to have it placed on the historic register?  Doubtful, but shit happens.  In the meantime I suggest the CILF take a tour of Peoria to make sure everything they want marked historic is marked and stop this last minute bullshit of filing on forgotten crap.  It is ruining your credibility.

The old building housing the AMVETS is nothing more than a roach motel and it should go. We need to declare the entire CILF committee historic, have them frozen, and then put on display when the new museum is built.  Which means probably never.

Kudos to Ms. Van Auken for saying something and I hope she rides this horse all the way home.  Pardon the pun but I hope she does some serious finger poking. This little action accounts for only a small percent of the stupidity that makes Peoria politics so fun (unless you're a tax payer) but if she stops this latest CILF fisaco,  it's a start.  Then we can move on to the stupidly that will become the relocation of Big Al's and then on to developing the Sears block into some serious retail and then on to something else and before you know it, we may have a competent government running our city.  There is some hope.

Hey, I can dream.

From the Snip-its Department...

I voted in the Presidential election.  I voted for "That One".

I hope Gordon knows how to use Google to find the State House.  She had a hard time locating Pleasant Hill School.

Big Al's is gonna move.  Anything would be an improvement. Get over it.

If anyone thinks they can make Peoria walk/bike friendly in an urban way, they are delusional.

If anyone thinks anyone in city government really backs the Heart of Peoria concept you are also delusional.  It is called lip service.

By now Sarah Palin has been tagged, collared, and released back into the Alaskan wild.  She'll be back, Hannity has the frequency.

Democrats all over the country are hoping she does come back.

Two things are certain tomorrow...The sun will come up and Peoria Pundit will be down.

Schock will be useless in the house the next four years.  Too bad we couldn't get Callahan in office.  At least she would have had a majority to vote with.

In four years, we will realize that Schock was useless.  Too late.

Why is East Peoria and or Creve Coeur always under a boil order?

Funny.  The city just re-paved University Street to Main Street hampering traffic for days.   What happens?  An Illinois American water main breaks right on the corner of Main and University.  What were the odds?

New giraffes were delivered to Glen Oak Zoo.  Love to see the look on their faces come January.

Congratulations to Peoria Speaks.com for their 1 year anniversary.  A nice group of people.

I am not running for 1st District city council.  My boys and wife, and family have talked me out of it.  I am close to retirement and other plans have come to light.

This means I can continue to slam these guys around the horseshoe which IMO is full of horse shit to often.

Let's Pouch Screw This Too Department...

Oh boy, here we go again.  Big Al's wants to move to make room for a big secret plan but only it's not really a secret, if you read the blogs and believe the PJS.  A new $100 million dollar hotel that is actually an addition to the current hotel, the Pere.

Public money will surely be asked for in some respect and let's hope it is nominal.   Either way, Big Al's wants to move and already the shit has started to fly in only the way Peoria politics can throw shit.  Hell, some of these shit throwers would make zoo monkeys look lame.  My God, it is the end of the world that Big Al's wants to sell his property and move to another of his properties on Hamilton Blvd.

Blogger's and lawyers and good Christians are all complaining that Big Al's move would be bad bad bad for them.  Yeah, like lawyers are all saints and gee, I never met a hypocrite Christian.  Let him move, what's the big deal?  Peoria has had Big Al's for years and years and yes, sadly that is all we are known for here in Peoria to some but whose fault is that?  It is all Peorian's fault.

Maybe if our local government didn't argue, study, and argue, and study everything to death, we would have something here in Peoria other than Big Al's strip easy to be remembered for.  Oh yeah, we have Steak N Shake.  How diverse.  You can bet that some how, our current city leaders will pouch screw this project much like everything else. Then there are those who worry about violating an ordinance or two by letting Al's move. Big deal.  What?  If we let Big Al's get away with this clearly unique move that strip clubs will want to spring up all over the city?  Doubtful.

As an example, look at Sheridan Village.  When built, it was just a shopping center, one of Peoria's first.  Never really had rear access to any stores but did have rear parking and it had a breezeway (about where CEFCU is now) that allowed shoppers to cut through to the rear parking area.  Not until Bergner's added on and included the Scandia Restaurant did the rear really take off.  Some of the stores added a rear entrance to account for the new traffic from Bergner's. Over the years a new out building was added.  Now abandoned.  A grocery store takes an interest in this nearly empty center and what does Peoria do?  They start changing the game.  They want rear entrances to match the old look of the Village. WTF?  Sheridan Village is gone folks.  It will never be the same as it was in it's heyday.  Only the Lord knows who's ass is being kissed to keep Bergner's there as that store has to be losing money.  Yet, a developer comes in and wants to build and make the property viable again and we throw as many road blocks as we can.  well, it doesn't appear now that they are in a hurry to build there.

Same goes with this hotel and Big Al's move.  A private developer has come forward and wants to build a new tower next to the old Pere Marquette Hotel, then revamp the old Pere and maybe connect a skywalk to the Civic Center because God knows how nice our winters are in Peoria and we must all walk street level even if it's 10 below zero and a 30 mph wind.  Hell, make our city's visitors walk in that.  That'll make them remember Peoria.

I say screw the churches, screw the people who say a skywalk will take people off the streets.  Let Al's move. Don't like strip joints? Then don't go to one.  Someone is keeping him in business.  Downtown needs help.  There is nothing there but bars and an unimproved hole in the ground that we Peorians have been arguing over for the last what, 20 years?  Maybe if this development comes to pass, then maybe someone will develop the old Madison Theater block and put in a Movie theater or some retail shopping.  CAT, our biggest employer and our only real claim to fame, must be embarrassed when they have to bring in clients and guests to our community.  The best hotel is across the river, and all we have to offer are bars, strip clubs, and whatever ice show is at the Civic Center.  Time we get with the program and just take a chance on this new development.  What could go wrong?  Just look....

Anytime our city government does something and argues and puts stipulations on a project, it fails:

1.  Campustown

2. Mid-Town Plaza

3. Ren Park  (old Med-Tech District)

4. Baseball park

5. Warehouse District

6. Let the gambling boat go

7. Failure year after year to develop the Sears block

8. Don't forget that great grocery store the south end got and all the crap and hoops that owner had to jump through.  (Yeah it's out of business already)

Ah hell, look at any of the 10 TIF's we have.  None have done what they were supposed to do. None.  Time this council and my councilman stop the bullshit and get on with approving this development, Al's liquor license and start seeing some real development downtown.  Yeah what could go wrong?

From the Voting Re-Cap Department...

Ok, I am going to write about how I feel the elections went last night.  I am not going to hit on all the candidates that were running but the few that mattered to me.  Please read my disclaimer before posting a comment.

Disclaimer:  Reading this blog while stoned my cause anal leakage, spontaneous urination, and uncontrolled laughter and or anger depending if you are taking viagra or vicodin. Please tell your doctor if you are reading other blogs or are on the extreme Right before taking any notes from this blog. Some "serious" bloggers have been known to be journalists but this condition will pass.  Tell your doctor if you start seeing double  Some readers have reported doubled vision and upon seeing a democrat exceed their expatiations have seen their heads explode. Do not take this blog into any context or any other blog for that matter shortly after eating 10 tacos form Taco Bell.  Taco Bell is not the Mexican phone company and please remove that hat.

OK, First Barrack Obama:  This to me was the only choice but not because we had only 2 choices.  If you think voting 3rd party was another choice well you're wrong.  You were just taking up space in line making the rest of us real voters wait longer.  I chose Obama because the guy is smart, knows how to communicate, and to me, he had a vision for this country.  He made sense when he spoke.  It was months before I realized what color he was.  He was elected by all peoples of this country, black, white, brown, red, whatever.

Jehan Gordon:  Well, as a democrat I had to vote for her.  After all, after 8 years of Republicans, my colon couldn't take it anymore so Kupra was out of the question. Is she qualified? Probably not but then what exactly did Schock do in that seat?  So what, she was caught shop lifting while a teenager.  If she is truly a thief, then I am glad to know it up front.  With politicians today, I guard my watch and wallet when I'm near one.  Let her go and we'll see how she does.  There will be more elections and the way this state has been running, well,  up is the only way we can go.

Aaron Schock:  I know Aaron.  I knew him very well when he was on the school board in my twilight years of school activism. (I guess you call it my Diane Vespa years only then I didn't blog to brag about it) I stood right behind him at a few of his news conferences when he announced his run for the state seat. Yes, he asked me to be there and in fact at one news conference, introduced me as "Mr. Manual" and to this day I am not sure why.  That is why I use that picture on my blog of myself with sunglasses on.  That is how I stood behind him with the cameras rolling only I was in a suit.  Like I was secret service or something. I thought it was hilarious. Schock went on to the state house and really, what exactly did he do? Anyone? Other than plan his next step, at taxpayer expense (he was on the public dole) all I can see was he did nothing really but provide the nicest and warmest lip service I have seen.  I was disappointed.  I didn't vote for him this time.  Makes no difference, in a strong Democratic House, he'll do nothing there either.

Kevin Lyons: Simply amazing huh?  Been in office since what, 1988? A stout democrat and yet every single police union in the area backed his opponent.  I'll admit, LaHood was the only Republican I voted for. I think Lyon's should go.  If he is as good as he says he is, then he'll survive in private practice very well. So how did he get reelected again?  Very simple my friends.  Lyons just holds his hand out and sways it across while saying; "Pay no attention to LaHood.  You'll vote for me." yep!  It's an old Jedi mind trick.  This works well on the weak minded.  Apparently Peoria is full of weak minded voters.  It has also been said that no defense attorney will go against Lyons.  That Lyons can wreck havoc on careers.  Picture this scenario:  Your on the Death Star and you speak out against the polices of Darth Lyons.  All of a sudden you start to choke.  Just before blacking out you hear; "Lyons! Let him go!."  Your saved! Now you know how he does it.  How else?

Dick Durbin:  Glad he won. Now I'll have to hear what an ass he is from every Republican I encounter.  Oh well.

That is how I feel. I still feel that we should impeach Bush on war crimes and include every one of his cronies.  I hope that Hannity's head exploded and Limbaugh has to get yet another prescription. It will go down in history that the Bush Presidency was the worst this nation has ever seen but at least I wasn't dumb enough to pony up $500 to see him.  On the other hand I would pay $500 to watch his trial and conviction.  I will admit McCain was very gracious last night in defeat.  It made me feel that was the John McCain I knew before the Bush Machine wrecked him in 2000.  Still I'll bet he is at his home right now swearing like a sailor home on leave and throwing gin glasses at his fireplace.  That's OK.  As for Palin?  I hope she's freezing her ass off back in Alaska.  After meeting her (via the campaign) I know now that we (America) are building the fence on the wrong boarder.  Also, is FOX News still reporting McCain as the victor?  Fair and Conservative!  No....it's Fair and Balanced. oops

Thanks for reading...

The Obituaries Department...

Park, Ren

Died: Friday, October 31, 2008 in Peoria, Ren Park formally know as the Med-Tech District passed away this afternoon.  No life support was offered.  Mr. Park left behind numerous relatives mostly of the Study Family and assorted ornamental lighting and hanging baskets. He loved vacant lots and needless buildings and absorbed many tax payer dollars over the years.

He was un-employed at the time of his death.

Mr. Park lived with and was cared for by his closet friend and life partner, Barbara Van Auken who just recently abandon him in his hour of need and waste.

A tribute service will be held at Junction City by his closest friend, Running Central who will probably move there now that he too is homeless.

Donations may be made to any of the three closet relatives of R Park.   Ms. Sheridan/Loucks Triangle, Mr. Warehouse District, or Ms. Prospect Road Corridor, who also has been ill for many many months.  Donations also will be accepted at the Defeat Van Auken for Re-Election Campaign Office and any black hole you'd like to throw your money down at various locations through out Peoria.

From Oh My Gosh Department...

If you love McCain this is a must watch video....

Sorry, I took it down until I figure out the damn script.

Meanwhile visit The Onion.
