Bang Bang.. Chica…er.. huh....Peoria Department…

Crime has hit a new high in Peoria.  No not numbers per se, but the balls our criminals seem to have, like robbing golf course patrons in the middle of broad daylight or shooting a defenseless gas station attendant to death.

The golf course thing, according to Park Queen Bonnie Noble is a fluke.  After all she says; “Don’t they (the criminals) know off duty cops play golf?”  Well, duh Bonnie but criminals aren’t known for their smarts are they?  They lie, steal, cheat, rob, and even kill for a few bucks, sort of like the two pieces of shit the cops caught trying to rob a guy on the 15th green.  When confronted, one of them at first denied his involvement and then like the rat he is, implicated his buddy.  Besides, thugs were robbing golfers before on this course last year or the year before. Nothing new.

Now our Mayor, Ardis, wants Peoria to be a test city for conceal and carry of weapons for the average citizen.  I disapprove of this because in Peoria, since no area is safe anymore, arming your self isn’t safe either.  You can be car jacked out at the Grand Prairie, robbed at Campustown, shot on the East Bluff, robbed on golf courses in broad daylight, and hit in the head in any downtown parking deck.  Carrying a weapon might be a plus but then it scares me also because some people simply can’t walk and chew gum at the same time.  I mean, you see people texting and weaving while driving, right?  Well if you can’t master driving and talking on a cell phone, then I worry you won’t be able to properly handle a weapon. 

The biggest thing that scares me about being allowed to carry weapons is what would happen to a person like the golfer as an example.  Say these two punks approached these guys pointing a gun, demanding money.  The other two golfers in the cart, both legally armed ride up, see what is happening and open fire killing both youths.  Some would applaud this while some would say; “Those terrible men shot and killed that young boy. He was only 18 and he was getting his life back together.  He was starting to raise his young daughter when he lost his job.  He didn’t deserve to die on the 15th green…..”  yada yada yada

Then the lawyers would be involved and law suits a plenty.  Think not?  Here’s how I see it…

Right now we have the police as our protectors.  We hire and arm these men and women to patrol our streets and to enforce the laws we as a civilize society demand.  We know but many won’t or don’t want to admit to the kind of people our police have to deal with on a daily basis.  Mostly the scum of our society. The repeat offenders, the drug pushers, and the ones that will kill a human being without thought for a few lousy bucks and then without thought will aim a gun at an armed officer of the law.  Yes, most of us don’t really care how the police have to deal with these people, we just expect them to show up when needed.

Now these officers, our police, who are licensed to carry arms and protect, are chasing a scum bag felon drug dealer through Peoria at a high rate of speed. This felon has no regards for anyone's safety and if he hits a person or rams a car and kills someone, he just wants to get away.  The police catch this guy, they know him to be a felon, and in the process of arresting him they seem to kick the shit out of him a bit before handcuffing him.  I say good! 

If this asshole had hit a car during that chase and killed a young mother and her child, then what?  So a couple of officers, who deal with this scum everyday working day of their lives, who know that these people will shoot at an armed officer, get an adrenaline rush and give this guy a couple of kicks while trying to get this eluding criminal to the ground, well, if you don’t do the crime, you won’t get your ass beat. 

So what happens?  Our chicken shit State’s Attorney, known as “catch and release” in some circles, charges the officers with a crime against this felon who “has rights”.  Some ambulance chasing lawyer jumped right on this and this is how it plays in Peoria. I say you commit a crime, run from the police, endanger other people with your actions, fail to obey an officer, then you just gave up those rights.

Now the police, who are a tight brotherhood (sisterhood) because of the stress this job has and because they depend on each other to have their back to stay alive, are leery of going after these thugs because heaven forbid, one of them falls down during an arrest, or in the case of Office Faw, aims a loaded gun at you and you have to shoot, people yell discrimination, or the big bad police beat me, or you violated my rights and the one person who should be backing our police 100%, the State’s Attorney, is too damn quick to charge police officers, but let felons go back to the streets.

The thugs know this, the police know they have weak kneed management that won’t directly defile Lyon’s (State’s Attorney)  or his actions.  The thugs know if they are caught, they serve maybe 5 years, get 3 squares a day and a free weight room, then back onto the streets. Hey, it’s a lifestyle to them!

Hey, I am the first to admit our rights under the laws of our country come first and if you are a law abiding citizen, trying to make a living in a civilized society,then yes you have rights and I firmly believe no police officer(s) is going to pull your ass out of a car and beat you for speeding or running a red light.  If you are a convicted felon, or a person with a gun who is robbing a gas station, you run, then you should expect your ass to get kicked.  I sure expect the cops to kick it.  That is what we hire them to do.  Our dirty work.  We better let them do it or the thugs will be running Peoria and to some, they already are.  If we let the police do their job, maybe the Mayor wouldn’t be asking to arm ourselves, would he?

Now this same “praying for 40 days” Mayor who coined the phrase; “It’s Better Here!” wants to let citizens arm themselves.  It has come to that. Not me. Not until we get rid of our current State’s Attorney, we get better leadership in the command structure of our Police Department, and we get a city government that will pull their collective heads out of their asses and realize that public safety should come before a museum or a hotel and not suffer at the expense of either.  Who is going to visit anything Peoria if the odds are you can’t make it back to your car alive?

Remember, if they will charge  cops for attacking these scum, what do you think they will do to you, an average citizen, for shooting one?
