Hey, A Little Fun Department…

The Anti-Pundit and the Mrs. Anti-Pundit took in a Chiefs baseball game last night with a group of bloggers and friends from Peoria Speaks.  We all met at a local nearby pub and downed some pre-game drinks and food, then headed for the game on a nice and humid night in Peoria.

I have been known to criticize our city from time to time (No, it’s true) but Peoria does have some fine attributes and really, O’Brien Field ballpark is one of them.  This place is just a damn nice place to sit and watch a baseball game.  The only complaint?  Well, nachos, 1 wine, 1 beer, a hotdog, and a cheeseburger… $42.50. Yes, I am exaggerating but damn it isn’t cheap but then all venues like this aren’t.  Same with the Civic Center.

Still, it was fun to meet bloggers I read but never had a chance to put a face to.  Just regular people with families who are just as opinionated as I am at times, and like to get together as a group every now and then to party.  It was fun going with the Peoria Speaks group and I thank them for the invite and pulling me out of the 80th floor of the Anti-Pundit towers in downtown Peoria.

I would also like to thank Peoria Illinoisan for taking the time to video the goofy light at Main and Maplewood.  The one I complained about in my last post and the very same one I complained about to the frickin city street department 5 times in the last 2 weeks.  They apparently must laugh it off out there on Dries Lane because nothing has been fixed concerning this traffic light.  Well, the next City Council meeting, I am going and I am going to ask why.  I know Mayor Ardis will say; “You should follow the chain of command before coming here to complain.”  Screw you Mayor.  I have called everyone but Idi Amin and nothing has happened. 

Yeah, it’s not the end of the world, until someone gets frustrated and runs the light and hits someone trying to cross or crashes into another car but that is the kind of stuff that has to happen it seems before the Street Department takes notice. Like that knuckleheaded lights on the University overpass.  I witnessed Friday yet another rear ended collision at these lights.  They aren’t timed and there is no rhyme or reason to their functions. 

There, I managed to get a bitch in but aside from that, also remember those that have fallen and those who have served this Memorial Day.
