The Radisson Hotel on Western is no more. They went out of business and now it's called Peoria Castle Lodge.
We are going to build a new hotel and a museum and no more overtime for police, sidewalks go to neighborhoods that have them, city leaders all but ignore our schools, and then they raise our taxes to pay for this shit. If the Radisson couldn't make it, how will the Pere when it's built? Simple, we, the taxpayers will pay to house Section 8.
UPDATE: 5/2: Well, the Radisson signs are back up. Go figure.

They just misrepresent everything, committe fraud, do anything to force their ideas to spend everyone money for 30 generations in the future.
look at all those resturants the city poped for, have city got back 100% of the taxpayers money, doubt it.
to bad the city isn't run like the smart people of caterpillar, know when to cut back on their own budget.
soon they hunting down with nazi iron crosses on their arms and calling the population a bunch of jews.
raddison failure in one word
LOCTION
And people slam me when I point this stuff out....
But hey, ignore that man behind the curtain!

Radissons are decent, if they can't make 5 minutes from downtown, I guess their high on drugs there thinking another hotel 1 minute anyway will make it, just cause they let written let be done.
one minute or five minutes anyway is really that much diffence
Why doesn't the city add a tax cigarotoes instead of property tax increases
I heard from someone who worked at the Castle Lodge that if the Radisson fails there is talk that it would become a retirement or nursing home.
The new hotel doesn't have funding and may not for a few years given the economic problems, yet during the elections we were told that the financing was in place.
You missed the last council meeting where everyone but Montelongo voted to spend money defending the drunken escapades of the 2nd district council woman. Guess the council has affirmed that
1. it's okay to go to work smashed off your ass.
2. the taxpayers should foot the bill, but should we CUT police overtime...(let's just split a case with BVA and turn her loose apparantly.).
3. you are not worthy of reprsentation in the city of Peoria unless you own a huge home on Moss Ave.
4. Vigilante's arm up and blow away anything that moves.
5. Hug a cop today...er no, the new slogan is bitch slap a cop and the city will pay for it...
Not one media source picked up the story that will cost taxpayers thousands and thousands of dollars..
Well said and No, I did not miss the last council meeting. I just hung my head in shame.
Why would anyone - especially anyone from out of the area, go to the south side of Peoria for anything? Dirty, run down, dangerous.....any questions?
I blame Peoria and Bradley for not working together to establish an eclectic, cultural arts district. It would run from downtown along Main, all the way to the Old Jumer's. Many cities have a cultural arts district, why not Peoria?
Oh, and we were pretty upset to see that the Radisson made the hotel less German-looking. The 19th century German architecture and decor is what drew me to that place.......
