Might be Gruff Department…

The two biggest lies in the world used to be:

1)  The check is in the mail…

and

2)  I won’t c** in your mouth

Yes I know that is a bit gruff but I heard the biggest lie ever today.  WHOI News is advertising their 5:30pm local news as Central Illinois’ earliest local news cast and now you can get the local news before anyone else.  “We do it for you!”   Yeah right, lie to me some more…

Fact is, the news is done in the SAME newsroom as WEEK Channel 25’s news is done and you can’t do two news shows at the same time.  Which means, good ol WEEK is putting WHOI News up against the very popular NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams which is being transmitted to Peoria area viewers from a tower right outside the studio while WHOI is trying to get viewers.  Good luck with that.

Geez, why don’t you just sell the damn station and quit snowing the public WEEK?  Now you know reason #106 why I don’t watch local news personalities.  They have to have one first.

Foot note:  Another lie?  “Your comment fell into the spam filter.”  If I can’t publish a comment on THIS bog and wonder if the post is simply a rehash using the headlines from the PJS instead of a original and snappy post, like you might see here, then what the fuck? I’ll bet Vespa’s comments fell into that spam filter once and only once and yet I can’t seem to post a single comment there. I give up.

Film at 10!

Barrington and Granite Broadcasting have an identical situation setup in another city, I think somewhere in New York state. Except it's done in reverse, Granite (NBC) moved into Barrington's (ABC) offices and Granite made the concession....so from a company standpoint it's a wash, just a cost-savings idear. The two cities get hurt the most, but if you talk to the head honchos at the networks, they would prefer to do away with affiliate licensing altogether.

Just how long have you been waiting to use that line lil' buddy? Seriously The Arrangement between eek and hoi is a detriment to local news. Same Photographers, smae news director same assignment editor eqals less news coverage and less indepth reporting! Before the two were competitors and would try to one up each other now the show the same footage on both stations.
