A Little Story Department…

Here is a little story….

There was an Afgan Freedom Fighter, fighting everyday against the things he saw as a threat to his home life.  One day, he decided to lay his weapon down, go to college at Pakistan University and become an engineer.  This he thought, would provide for his family and maybe a better life.

He did just that and graduated at the top of his class.  He applied to all the big corporations and lo and behold Caterpillar (CAT) hired him.  They said they could use a highly skilled young man like him and he should come to Peoria.  He went.

CAT taught him all the ways of making their tractors and equipment and he succeed beyond his wildest dreams.  He landed a very comfortable job making 6 figures a year.  His boss came to him and said; “Yusoff, what would you like to do?”  Yusoff replied that he’d like to call his mother and tell her the news.

“Mom!  I made it big!  Bigger than I thought”  but his Muslim mother replied; “You’re no son of mine!”   “But why?” Yusoff inquired.  His mom went on fighting back tears; “Since you have been at CAT, the neighborhood has been in shambles, your brothers have been beaten to an inch of their lives. Bullets fly every night and I can’t let your sister out for fear she’ll be raped!  I’ll never forgive you for moving us to the East Bluff!”

Ok, OK, I took license.

As a loyal East Bluffer, I will get even. I don't know when or how, but rest assured, I will get even! It was funny though!

I may laugh in your general direction, but I grew up in the east bluff and spent about 20 years there total. It was still funny. :)
