Why? Because this country elected a black President. We did it fair and square. He won by a huge margin and no Supreme Court had to get in and make a decision like they did with Dubbya.
This man, Obama, inherited a massive debt from a needless war in Iraq where we were spending BILLIONS by giving it to shady private contractors. This is what caused our Recession. This almost 8 years of unchecked spending by a Republican President is why we fell into a near depression. Obama didn’t create this economic mess, it was handed down. That money spent in Iraq would have provided free health care to every single American with money left over. We didn’t get rid of a single terrorist threat. We still have Bin Laden and we still have Dick Cheney.
I knew the Republicans would come after Obama with force. They hounded Clinton all 8 years he was in. First it was White Water, then it was something else, then something else, then hookers in trailer parks and when all those lies fell through, they finally got him because of a blow job. Yes, Clinton lied about a blow job. Men have been doing that since women took over the cave home. Doesn’t make it right, but no one died either.
This time though the RIGHT is truly a bunch of wing nuts. Starting with Obama isn’t an American. Yet, it is proven that he has a US birth certificate. I would love to see Sarah Palin’s high school diploma, which I doubt exists, but I do know Obama is as American as I am. Birthers. Wow what a concept. I actually met a guy who firmly believes Obama is not a US citizen. Scared me to think there are thousands more out there. Like Timothy McVeigh. Remember that wing nut? He believed he was truly protecting the Constitution of the United States. So he killed innocent men, women, and children. Americans. Blew up the Federal Building in Oklahoma. A gun toting American for sure.
Then came health care and the debates. The woman crying that she wanted her America back! Where did her America go? Now we have this address to school children taking place on September 8th in schools across the country by our President. Nothing new as Bush 1 did it in 1991 and so did Reagan. Nobody previewed those broadcasts. Dubbya was even allowed to read to school children. That is what he was doing on 9-11-2001. Then he ran and hid. Why? These were white men, that is why.
Nationally, I can’t do much nor say much that isn’t being said by sane people already. Locally however, I am appalled. District 150 is going to make the broadcast available to all schools. Dunlap however is going to wait a day and let parents preview it. Would they wait a day in Dunlap if it was George W. or John McCain? I really doubt it. Sad.

What else could it possibly be?
Hitler killed millions and was an animal. When idiots make this comparison, then are taking away the horrific actions Hitler pulled against humanity during WW II. Ya know, instead of making up shit like fake birth certificates, Obama is a Muslim, he is a socialist, or any of the other shit FOX News and Limbaugh spew, why doesn’t Limbaugh or Hannity just say what they really mean. They don’t like a nigger in the White House. Get it out there. Even the dumbest of the masses can understand that and we wouldn’t have toothless public aide white girls from trailer parks yelling they want their America back. How about that for a generalization? That is why I am sad. America has not apparently made any strides in racial equality since Kennedy or King in the 60s. These people, the type delaying the President’s message to children in Dunlap, and throughout America simply can not stand a black man in our highest office. Since Obama was elected by a majority, I have to wonder where is the outrage from this majority. He has been in office barely 8 months and yet according to these narrow minded bigots (and they are bigots) Obama is the cause of our debt, he is taking away our guns, he is screwing up healthcare, and he is creating socialism.
You think health care doesn’t need fixing? $10,000 a month for a nursing home is a bargain? People dying because their insurance company denied their claims. Wait until you get really sick and Hazel at MetLife says no to your heart transplant. Yet health care insurance is fifthly rich. Locally just look at some of the doctor’s offices on Knoxville, out on Route 91, and what is OSF building now? Always something. Yep they are hurting.
No, I want real debate and believe there is nothing wrong with disagreeing even with our President. If your beliefs are on the RIGHT, then fine, join in and let’s make something happen. Otherwise leave your 9mm pistols and AK47s at home. As an American I take offense that you arm yourself because I have a different opinion than you. Fuck dicks, the terrorists have already won. 9-11 did much more than kill 3000+ and knock down two buildings. It has successfully divided ourselves within our country.
Stop beating around the bush and come out and say what you really mean. That is what is happening in Dunlap and around this country. Just say it! We don’t want no nigger talking to our kids.

The recession was caused by two things: Rising oil prices and last fall's financial collapse.
What caused the spike in oil prices? Exploding demand in China and India, restrictions on domestic drilling and exploration and regulations which have prevented construction of new refineries (the last was built in 1976) and limited modernization and expansion of existing ones. Who's at fault? Members of both parties, but mostly the liberal Dems, for bowing to the tree-hugging, Sierra Club-types.
The financial collapse? The Community Reinvestment Act was designed to help minorities buy homes. It was a Carter-era piece of legislation from about 1977. In 1993, Bill Clinton pushed for new rules pressuring banks to lend to home-buyers regardless of their ability to repay.
These rules exploded the subprime market. In 2003, the Bush Adminstration proposed new rules that would prevent the inevitable disaster, but Congress stopped him due to key members' personal stake in quasi-government lenders, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
In 2008, the housing market collapsed and banks began to fail as a result of government pressure to lend, thus a recession deepened.
There are differences of opinion on whether the bank bailout was necessary. It may have been, but it exploded the Federal budget deficit. Both Republicans and Democrats spent like drunken sailors since 2001 so further deficits further threatened the nation's economic security.
The greatest (so far) failure of the Obama administration is its reckless spending. They could have successfully (and accurately) painted the GOP as reckless spenders, but instead passed the unnecessary $787 billion stimulus, and now a huge, and unnecessary Federal health care plan will only worsen the deficit, and likely plunge the economy into hyperinflation. Cap-and-Trade energy taxes, if passed, will absolutely destroy heavy manufacturing in America, and force the airline industry to severely downsize.
Obama is setting himself up for foreign policy disasters. If you think Iraq is a "disaster" (it is not), then you ain't seen nothin' yet!
I am sad and getting more and more depressed too, Randy. I think right wing insanity has hit an all-time high. If I try and speak out, I am told to 'play nice'. Unfortunately, there is no playing nice with batshit crazy wingnuts.

Obama's legacy is yet to be seen. If the RIGHT naysayers would lay off with your wacky birth, Muslim, Socialist accusations, maybe this President could get something done. As for Bush, well history is already written there. He was a goof and a fuck up and a liar who pooch screwed our economy with an un-necessary war that has cost billions not to mention lives. Theses are the facts we have now. Quite frankly, I don't want the Republicans second guessing Obama at all. Obama's party controls all branches of government, and until Sen. Kennedy's death, had a 60-vote Senate majority (and a Dem is likely to be elected to replace Kennedy come January, thus restoring the 60 votes). If he can't get something done, it's because his own party is divided.
It's not the GOP/Right Wing that is stopping Obama's agenda; the public has read the health care bill and doesn't like it. They want reform, but not the Dems' bill.
The president could recover, like Bill Clinton did, but unlike Bill Clinton, Obama is too much of a leftist idealogue to moderate like Clinton (which helped him get re-elected in 1996). It may lead to a crushing defeat for his party in 2010, and his own defeat in 2012.

Bush moved to invade Iraq because the UN sanctions regime was about to fall apart due to the bribery scandal. He didn't want a nation with a history of POSSESSING and USING WMD's to get in cahoots with Al-Qaida. Waiting to see whether it would happen or not was unacceptable. The invasion went well, operations against terrorist insurgence did not always, but the situation more or less stabilized by 2008 thanks to the Surge strategy. Bush was correct to get rid of Saddam Hussein. History will prove him correct.

As Obama and health care, the whole bill has not been brought out yet in detail unless of course you listen to MSNBC, they have it wrong, and Faux News, they will tell you of death squads.
My point with this post was simply no matter what, even if Obama was re-writing the Candyland Game, the right is simply not going to let him succeed no matter what. It isn't about helping the poor and uninsured. The GOP has never cared about the poor. It is simply hate and hate toward a black President yet nobody has the balls to just come out and say it. For people like David, to predict that Obama will fail is fine but to condemn Obama to failure before he has had a chance is wrong.
As for Bush getting rid of Saddam, what about all the other country's like North Korea? Bush didn't go there. There were NO WMDs as Bush said and the 9-11 attack had nothing to do with Iraq. Iraq did have everything to do with Bush I and that is why Bush II dupe the American public into a needless war. They simply lied and cheated all of us out of billions and billions. History will show that.
