What I Respect…

I respect the President of the United States.  Yes even Bush. We may have our differences but any country that fucks with us gets the big end of the stick.  I loathe Bush and his policies and that’s OK because in this country we should agree to disagree.  In time of crisis, I will stand by our country and our President be he a she or white, black, or purple person.  We are Americans first.

I respect the flag of this country and what it stands for because I served under it and a hell of a lot of people died defending it.  I do not like it flying from a plastic pole on your 1969 Dodge.

I respect the date 9-11-2001, the day this country suffered a horrible terrorist attack that killed many innocent Americans.  I too, was right behind our then President Bush and like millions of others, I wanted revenge and I didn’t care who it was as long as they wore a towel on their head. For this, I was wrong.  Hindsight is wonderful.

I respect the woman’s right to choose.  I can never make that choice but I will never deny that choice.  Sorry to those that think different but that is why this country is so great.  We can have our differences and still be free.  If that choice is ever repealed, then I will respect that. I may not agree but I will respect it. I will not kill to change it.

I respect our form of Government.  It is over 200 years old and up till now it has served us well through the decades.  We have the right to vote for whom we choose without being forced or coerced.  We have always had the right to bear arms although I do not believe an AK47 is needed at town hall meetings. Still, that is your right, and I’ll defend it.

I do not respect an elected politician, be it to the House of Representives or the Senate that would resort to name calling or heckling when our President is addressing this house.  To me, this person has no business representing anyone and should resign.  To me, this type of behavior proves you to be an assbag.

I respect a person that does the right thing.  The right thing would be for Congressman Joe Wilson to resign.  Do it for your party.  Do it for this country.  Otherwise, over the decades since our Constitution has been signed, we have gone so low, that the elite have put profits before human condition, party before respect of the highest office, greed before God.  Where does it end?

I agree! And your choice of "assbag" is perfect!

I like the folks who keep saying "Well, when Shrub was in office, all you liberals were disrespectful of him..." 2 wrongs make a right? If, as they insist, they Repubs are the party of higher morale standards, why wouldn't they lead by example? Why wouldn't they show us democrats how to behave?

Total agreement here. They can be childish and uncivilized at their little "tea parties" because those of us who think for ourselves (no need for Fox celebrities here)demand civility when it comes to the leader of the greatest nation on the planet...no matter whom is in office.

Well done, PAP.

At least this President is trying to do something; not sitting on his rear on a ranch while thousands are dying in foreign countries where we should not be, nor doing anything about the crumbling economy because he will be out of office soon, and not caring about health care for millions of Americans. Let's give President Obama a chance, and if he doesn't cut it, vote him out in the next election.
