District 3 School Board seat anyone????

Well?  Vespa?  All those marching parents with the t-shirts last summer?  Anyone?  Bitch bitch bitch but no one is stepping forward to take  a seat on the school board and right the wrongs?  Gee no kidding.

The PJS editorial is right on.

District 3?  North end of Peoria where the beautiful homes are.  The concerned parents whose husbands draw nice paychecks so the wife can stay at home and organize protests because little Johnny was dismissed 45 minutes early on a Wednesday?  Where concern parents can meet at a pizza joint once a week and criticize everything the school board is doing wrong?  Yet, none of these people can step up and take the charge and claim this seat?

Huh.  Didn’t see that coming……..NOT!

This is both amusing and sad...

It would be interesting to see Diane Vespa on the school board.

I'll bet she runs right after you make a run for City Council. Five opportunities just passed you by. What's that saying? Something about glass houses...

Hi,

Thanks for sharing the link - but unfortunately it seems to be down? Does anybody here at peoriaantipundit.blogspot.com have a mirror or another source?

Thanks,
Peter

Link works. Anonymous, well the first one anyway. I was set to run for 1st District back when it was up a few years ago but because of a medical condition I was advised by my neuro surgeon to skip the stress and by my family. I fully plan to run for the 1st district next time around. I would never go for an At Large seat ever. Second, I will never run for a school board seat as it is a thankless job and if I am going to serve I want to be compensated for my time. No pay on the school board. Third, I have always on this blog supported District 150 as I have seen first hand the many sucesses from our schools. I have volunteered in the schools for well over 12 years and that was time well spent. The students our District is strapped with most of which don't want to learn. You can't teach students that don't want to be there no matter how good a teacher and Admin you have. Bus these kids to Dunlap and they will find out the same thing. Now, Vespa and those that bitch and whine and moan about what they see is wrong in this District is fine. Here is a chance for one of them to step up. The silence is deafening

OK. Fair enough. Hopefully when it comes time for you to run your medical condition doesn't flare up again.

Nope, it hasn't and I'll be retired by then. So time will not be a problem. It does depend though IF someone other than Gulley steps up. I mean if someone steps up that I think will do the job, then maybe I won't go for it.

Grayeb is going to run as a write-in to re-open Woodruff and adopt his "don't ask, but do tell" policy.

Randall, aren't you being a bit hard on Diane? She did just help her husband run a very time-consuming campaign. Also, Diane is one of the few--if not the only-- parents from District 3 that has come regularly to our meetings. The problem with many parents in District 3 is that there children aren't in District 150 schools--they left some time ago. That's one no one from District 3 wants to run--they don't care about District 150--not even enough to complain.

Oh, my--my pride is so hurt. I shouldn't write when I'm tired. Using "there" instead of "their" is the ultimate sin for an English teacher. :)
