Pekin police broke up a party on New Year’s Eve at a home in Pekin. They arrested 25 people total. One guy was arrested while Pekin police parked a block away waiting for backup and they saw this 19 year old sequel his tires and leave. He was pulled over and charged with DUI as he was way over the limit.
Then police tried to enter the home by knocking. Looking in the window, they saw two guys laying on the floor which I guess was cause for the police to enter and check their welfare. When they did, another kid tried to closed the door on the police and got his head hit and cut.
Ya know, Tazewell County is the home of the drunken teen. Usually it ends with a car with 3 or 4 teens in it hitting a tree or light pole that jumped in their way. Then we have to read about the grieving parents and read about the A students that were in the car. Yet this crap goes on and guess what? These were all white kids.
White kids? But PAP, why do you have to bring color into this? Well for a few reasons. These kids are what I consider “white trash”. Yes, I used the equivalent of the “N” word for some white kids. But PAP, you are so wrong! Yea, these are good kids, just letting off steam. No big deal if they have a few and a little good time. All kids do it. Yea, so they may kill themselves on the way home or maybe some innocent drivers out there. Big deal, right?
The fact of the matter is that most of these kids probably have families that can afford the lawyers they are going to need. They will probably be able to afford the fines leveled against them. That is if none of their daddies has any political pull in Pekin, then they will probably get a slap on the wrist.
No if this was a drinking party in poor black Peoria, there would be only a few differences. One, somebody would have pulled a gun and shot someone and two, none would be able to afford the attorney or have the political pull to get out of jail and or a sentence.
Point? If you don’t think I know there isn’t two levels of justice, then you are wrong. It’s all about color and demographics. It’s sad. Throw the book at those bastards Pekin! We shall see……we shall see….

As a Bergan student, bet you never came into contact with underage drinking, huh? It's only a problem if you get caught, I guess. Send'em to war but no suds! Why not teach responsible drinking to those who serve - or are of age to serve?
the other difference is that the police showed up, made arrests, and that they will get prosecuted in Tazwell. wouldn't happen here.
white trash? you shouldn't be so hard on yourself, Randy. now that ought put a smile on the face of your favorite black racist lurker! assuming these Pekin kids HAVE the money to hire legal representation (seeing that they actually hold jobs), this ought to be a good thing. if this was a black ghetto party in Peoria, you would be paying for sha'nay-nay and tyrell's public defender. way to show your deep thinking skills, mr. useful idiot!
Osama: Gee no kidding? Of course those involved most likely will have the resources to cover their asses as opposed to the black kids under the same circumstances. I just am tired of reading about teenagers drunk, driving into trees and killing themselves. Tazewell County seems to be the home of this type of behavior.. If you can't get past that, then maybe you are the useful idiot?
BTW: IMO....white trash = anyone who would allow their home to host an underage drinking party.
That number of kids at a drinking party generates the question of how many parents were unaware (or uncaring) where these kids were/what were they doing??!! They should be held accountable versus just "paying" to get these kids out-N-off of a penalty. This will indeed be an interesting judicial resolution.
I have to disagree with you PAP...while there may be 2 levels of justice I think the more important thing is that there are two levels of prosecution...Peoria sucks at prosecuting people and apparently Pekin is a little better.
I wonder if they will be prosecuted in the same manner as Ingersoll's daughter?
Interesting post/very thought provoking...Justice for All is the last few words in our Pledge of Allegiance, and should be the bottomline in all matters of justice regardless of how the demographics break down.
Best Wishes for a Happy New Year!
Pekin may be full of white trash, but I would rather get lost in a back alley, in Pekin, in the middle of the night than any street in Peoria-during the day or night.
Got a smile of truth RE the above Anonymous post for getting lost in Pekin versus Peoria and certainly appreciate the comment by Chef Kevin concerning the Ingersoll debacle!
Hey PAP, did you hear the news. Eric Turner is moving to Chicago.Liquor Commissioner D. Turner stated that this would be his last Liquor Commission Meeting. He
explained that he had accepted new employment in the Chicago area and would be leaving the Peoria
area.
PAP, Sorry. It is David Turner not Eric that is moving. I guess I was wishing for to much. Sorry for the bad information.
looks like the city council just shoved one up the ole East Bluff residents' collective Hersey Highway
3 of those "white trash" (your words, not mine) were wonderful young people with their whole lives ahead of them. There was NO alcohol involved, it was a rainy night. They hit a tree, it did not jump out in front of them. Most of the fatal accidents that occured in Pekin a couple of years ago had NOTHING to do with alcohol. I stood in line and saw everyone of those children lying in a coffin. Shame on you for painting every CHILD with the same brush!
Pekinite, I did not paint all kids as white trash from Pekin. I have family that lives in Pekin. I know Pekin. Pekin didn't get it's reputation from me making a post and yes, while not all kids involved in accidents were drunk, there have been som e drunk driving accidents in and around Pekin, just as Pekin was/is known for it's racial bias, meth labs, etc etc etc. None of it made up by me. One person here said that as a Bergan student, I must have come in contact with alcohol. I went to Bergan 2 whole years and no, never did attend or participate in an underage alcohol party. What I do despise is parents who allow their homes to host such a party like the one I mentioned here where police observed a underage drunk teenager leaving the party in a car. I am tired of reading of the deaths of young people due to drinking and driving. I vented that here and of course, you can have your opinion or click away.....None of us are Saints and like the shootings that take place here in Peoria with gangs, then the mother cries on the TV what a good kid he was, so are you after the fact. To the people who knew them and loved them, they were all great kids.
Fyi: that house was leased to two twenty year old men.
Once again the Peoria anti pundit demonstrates his outstanding ability to blog about things he knows absolutely nothing about.
