Got to hand it to them….

Got my little post card in the mail today from PDC Services addressed to RESIDENT.  It wants to know what size roll out tote I want and they offer 3 sizes.  Check a box and mail back the postage paid card.

It doesn’t have the PDC logo on it either.  It’s got our God awful city logo on the side of the tote and has the printing; “City of Peoria”

So…if PDC God forbid, should lose the garbage pick up, another company would honor the totes as it has just the city’s logo. In the meantime, the city can and you can bet your ass, will raise the rental fee in the future as well as the Garbage Fee to go with it.  We will become acclimated with the system and if you don’t have a tote, no garbage pick up.

Meanwhile we are all paying rent on this tote since January 1st, and it looks like it will be June or July before we get them.  Delivering one of these to every single household is going to cost a bit of coin.  Wonder how that is being paid for? Wanna bet that our dear council comes out and tells us we have top pick them up ourselves?  Covering their butts they did.

I want to know where do I go for a refund on the rental I don’t have but I am paying for?

Peoria…It’ better than nothing.

BTW, The post card goes to the Rehrig Penn Logistics Company out of Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin.  I wonder what this outfit charged for their services????

Let me paraphrase: Peoria, Better Than Nothing? It IS nothing as it is being killed by ridiculous decisions, expensive programs and stupid/irrelevant plans! Who could have imagined the current "pinch" on citizens for this garbage debacle - and paying without the product!!! Unbelievable! Keep this outrage on the front burner!

I got my postcard today too. I am simply astounded that we are being billed without receiving the toter. This is THE dumbest shit ever!

if you paid attention to the council meeting where this was done, the $13 fee is only good for a limited time period, it has already been approved to go up over the life of this contract.

I want to know where to go to get my money back for the totes that I purchased several years ago.

I wonder if I get the biggest tote if it will hold the three garbage cans I already possess as I will no longer have a need for them?

Also, there is nowhere to check "I don't want your f-in' tote because I'll dispose of my garbage myself".

If you don't have a tote how can you be charge for it? I must have missed something because I am a bit confused that the City is getting away with charging people for something they don't have...

What about getting charged for a PDC tote that you have already bought so that you didn't have to pay a monthly rental fee? I had purchased Waste Managements also and when PDC got the contract Waste Management refunded me and several others our money for the purchase.

Just got my postcard in the mail today. I already have a tote! If I understand this correctly, I bought one but I will still have to rent one? When Ardis runs for whatever the heck he's gunning for, I'm writing in Colonel Parker's name!!!!

I got my postcard in the mail today. Was just thinking of the increased gargage bill fee I paid last week on my water bill. Crock of sh*#. So I decided to check the website on the card and was directed to the City website. I didn't realize but there is a garbage fee hotline for the City of Peoria, 309-494-8807. I will call tomorrow and see if I can get an answer on the cost without goods!!!!!!!!!

Had another shock today! Not only did my garbage fee go up to rent the tote that I already bought from PDC several years ago and only use once a month, but my Comcast bill went up to. I have basic cable it was $14, went to $18 last year and now this month rose to$25. Not only that but my VCR that I use to record preprogrammed shows can't be used and I would have to rent their recorder for $5 per month. So not only did I have to get their little box to get cable at all, but would have to rent their equipment. Now if I could have afforded all this I would have done it years ago and sure would have enjoyed more than basic cable. But I am on a very limited income. The elderly are getting slammed in Peoria in all areas and no one gives a damn.
