I am appalled that the city council continues to ignore the crime in Peoria and vote money for the useless Washington Street upgrade. The warehouse district gets more money and it seems OSF is going to eventually tear down the East Bluff one house at a time and expand so they can offer no tax return and minimum wage jobs for the masses. In the mean time, the rich and connected in this town rake in the benefits while turning a blind eye to every working person in this city who strives to keep a home, a job, without working two jobs, and get their kid to stay in school, not because school is hard, but because in Peoria, public school is dangerous.
I had my home recently evaluated because retirement is in my near future. I want to leave Peoria. The broker said that in the best case, because our city leaders refuse to address the crime, the shape of the roads, and continue to cut city services while selling bonds for warehouse, talking turn a bouts, that it might be in my best interest to just abandon my home and leave. Not that bad really, but damn close.
I am without words on the direction this city is going. The way most of our council members are bought by corporations in this town is borderline criminal. Watch the election donations to these clowns come election time and see how much that feel good charity known as OSF gives to some of these people Rome is indeed burning while our leaders fiddle. Corporations are people too! Right? The Supreme court said so but I’ll believe that when Texas executes a corporation and only then.
Nough said…….waiting for the blizzard of January, according to WMBD Radio, we shall all perish tomorrow because of the great storm. Thank God it’s only 40 weeks until the great museum opens and saves our downtown. LMAO and crying.
One more thing. I am sick as fuck of young black men shooting up, breaking into homes, stealing and robbing in our city. Sound racist? Maybe it is but the damn paper has a black mug shot almost everyday of the gangster that was the latest arrestee. That is why my home’s value has taken a dive. That is why the schools are dangerous and this is why people leave in droves for the burbs. People aren’t stupid and they know the 300lb gorilla in the room is the problem, just some won’t speak it publicly.
Again, just my opinion. I am tired and I have nothing…….

Certainly agree with these well stated observations! Everyone seems amazed 'N appalled at the decisions - lack of crime control that is driving down values and money spent on superfluous/ridiculous plans. The crime section in the paper "does not lie" with its statistics/photos. Museum and hotel will soon be another LEMON on the horizon, but you can view them while on the turn-about. Are these people living in a bubble??!! Where is fiscal responsibility and care for the taxpaying average citizen?!?!
Occupy the MLK luncheon with signs about black on black crime.
The city is now pushing residents to enforce the law so they don't have to hire cops.....

A woman told police she was punched in the face several times Tuesday night while asking her West Bluff neighbors to stop yelling profanities.
The 38-year-old victim told police she walked to a home in the 500 block of Columbia Terrace about 8:20 p.m. to confront a group of juveniles who often hang out at two houses there.
As she approached the group, an older man in his 20s walked up to her and said, "Get the (expletive) out of here, (expletive). Nobody wants that Neighborhood Watch (expletive)."
The man then punched her in the face several times and fled northbound on Flora Street, according to a report...."
Note that the cops couldn't find the suspect...what a surprise.
also, 5th Ave. Fashions was robbed in the middle of afternoon at gunpoint, broad daylight with how many cars going down main st? With it being that close to Main st. commons I bet ole BVA will liquor herself up pretty good and stagger around on patrole over there. Watch out cops, she gets slap happy when on patrole.
Looks like Methodist didn't give enough campaign donations. This is what you need to do.. Contact Heartland Partnerships and contract with them to do some advertising using the words imperative and/critical. make the appropriate, affilidated campaign donation and viola, grab a bucket to catch all the tax money that will be flowing your way.
