Hotel Project Delayed Again?? Wonder why…

135836

Could it be an equipment problem?  Something only the City of Peoria would have?  Nope.  How about financing? Nope, we taxpayers will pay up any short fall you can be sure about that as the Mayor and our council will make sure.

Well, what can it be this time?  Let me quote from the good book of Elvis 2:31

“Thou shalt not remove parking from our church to buildth a hotel without first checking that it won’t giveth birth to a new strip club.”

Yep, we should be all on the floor laughing our asses off as the Marx Brothers tries to get this hotel project off the ground. Unfortunately, we are the ones paying the taxes, paying the Garbage Fees, paying for the future bonds and then with a quick slap to the other side of our faces being told that the city is broke, revenues are down, your house isn’t worth more than a Maytag washer and we are cutting police and city services because damnit all to hell, who needs cops and everyone loves to watch things burn to the ground.

At least we’ll have a hotel to stay in when times get tough. No wait. Maybe not.  Nobody seems to have the balls to pull the trigger and now after what, almost 4 years, the Catholics have decided they want their cut.

Can’t blame the Diocese for wanting what is theirs but you can blame the Council for taking what is ours.  Let’s make a whole bunch of them un-employed by the City come April 2013, shall we?

Another excellent post! It is astonishing that 11 people can fleece so many and also destroy a city. By the time the hotel is finished (will it ever be started?), there will be no business as the "downtime" will have driven customers elsewhere and certainly without more police and better crime control, it is a doomed project. There seems to be no parameters for accountability or integrity to control this rampant misappropriation of public funds. Keep on posting, PAP, for awareness and hopefully enough outrage to generate a change!

Y'all had a chance to vote out Gulley, Turner and Spain. Instead, they were easily reelected. So many Peoria voters are all talk.

I have to agree with Mr. Widmer. We had the chance to vote these people out and didn't. I know at least I tried.
